Professional Goals and Objectives

My goal as an occupational therapist is to enable people
to engage in meaningful occupations that support their participation in
life.
- As an occupational therapist I will use my expertise to help children, youth and adults with and without mental health disabilities prepare for and perform important learning and developmental activities.
- I will advocate the use of occupation to facilitate growth and adaptations with the goal of participation in meaningful occupations that supports self-actualization and meaning.
- I will develop a practice model for community mental health advocating transition for youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
- I will become proficient in using various assessments to work with children, youth and adults who have developmental disorders and mental health issues.
- I will incorporate evidence-based research and client-centered care into my future practice in order to implement the best practice for each population and each individual client.
